The exhibition presents award-winning works from the Karol Kowalski National Goldsmiths' and Jewellers' Competition “Amber Craftsmanship”. Organised by the Goldsmiths' and Jewellers' Trade Committee at the Pomeranian Chamber of Crafts for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, in partnership with the City of Gdańsk and the International Gdańsk Fair, the competition has spent over 20 years promoting the highest standard of jewellery craftsmanship in two categories – juniors and seniors. The exhibition features selected works from throughout the competition's history (since 2003).
It's a unique opportunity to see the talent and professional skill of goldsmiths and young practitioners of the craft, who specialise in traditional and modern goldsmithing techniques and combine tradition with modernity in their amber work.
The exhibition features around 100 works, including those by Waldemar Sawa, Grzegorz Tryjefaczka, Dominika Gawlak-Długosz, Maciej Łobocki and Jakub Śliwowski. Students from the State Secondary Schools of Fine Arts in Katowice and Częstochowa also present their designs.
The exhibition is organised by: The Amber Museum in Gdańsk, the Pomeranian Chamber of Crafts for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Gdańsk, and the Union of Coastal Towns and Municipalities.
