A retrospective exhibition by Andrzej Boss, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, prepared to mark the 40th anniversary of his creative career.
Andrzej Boss graduated from the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Łódź . In 1985 he completed his diploma theses in the Jewellery Design Studio, and the Drawing and Sculpture Studio, and has been employed at his alma mater ever since. Since 2008 he has headed the Jewellery Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. In 2010 he received the title of professor of fine arts. He runs the Goldsmithing Forms Studio.
He is the author of more than a dozen solo exhibitions, a participant in over 150 group exhibitions worldwide, the winner of eight and a juror of ten goldsmithing competitions. Besides jewellery, he designs functional objects and small sculptural forms. For years, Professor Boss has been creating unique jewellery that combines art and message. At the heart of his work lies the conviction that jewellery should be a means of communication, and that through it artists should tell the story of themselves and the world around them. The exhibition will present works from various periods of the artist's career, including his newest pieces, created especially for this anniversary exhibition.
